Intermediate Accounting Technican

We are looking for a professional, detail-oriented Intermediate Accounting Technician to join our firm, located in High River Alberta. Abacus & Field LLP is a firm built on forging positive relationships with our clients and community. We rely on our staff to empower our clients to take control of their finances, encourage them to ask questions and build their financial literacy, advise on tax planning and financial matters, to assist in all our clients accounting needs. Number of positions: 1 Full Time
Hybrid work model:
In-office and work from home
Starting Salary: $30,000 - $60,000 based on experience

Key Responsibilities
  • Responsible for recording financial transactions and maintaining accurate records, while bringing the books to a trial balance stage
  • Provide bookkeeping services using software such as CaseWare Working Papers, Sage50 and QuickBooks
  • Performing reconciliations of bank accounts, accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll
  • Bookkeeping for investment transactions
  • Preparing T4/T5 Summary and supplementary forms
  • Preparing GST Returns
  • Preparing T1 Returns
Our Ideal Candidate has
  • A certified Bookkeeping Diploma/Certificate or an Accounting Diploma/Certificate or equivalent
  • Experience in Personal and Corporate Tax Preparation
  • 1-3 years of practical accounting experience, with a bookkeeping/accounting focus
  • Strong working knowledge of CaseWare Working Papers and/or Sage50 and Quickbooks
  • Experience preparing Payroll
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Familiarity with Client Relations Management (CRM) systems an asset
